After TN’s recent Back to School Night, several parents approached me with a similar question: “How much did we raise?”
It’s a valid question. During the warm up part of the evening, Terra Nova Education Foundation (TNEF) sto
od in front of our wonderful parent community and asked for financial support. We presented QR codes for donations and suggested an amount of money per student. So naturally, many wondered: did our efforts succeed?
Before delving into the numbers, let’s take a step back
and reflect on why we embarked on this journey in the first place.
Mission statements are important and necessary. We are revising ours but for now we want you to know that our goal is simple: More Education Opportunities for students at Terra Nova.
- **More**: Terra Nova teachers and administration already do great work with its resources. But imagine what more could be achieved with extra support.
- **Educational**: It’s not just about equipping our teachers with more tools but also enhancing the overall learning environment. It's about transcending the confines of the classroom to offer richer experiences.
- **Opportunities**: We dream of a school where every student finds a place to shine, to grow, to explore. Where there’s something for everyone, and where everyone has something invaluable to contribute.
Now, to address the burning question: No, we didn't reach our monetary goal on Back to School Night. Nor could we have reached our other goal of 100% student family participation in our financial drive. However, our true aim, the soul of our mission, is to enhance educational opportunities for every student at Terra Nova. And that's a marathon, not a sprint. We’ve only just begun this race.
As parents and guardians of our incredible students, we need your support now more than ever. If we band together, the possibilities for our children are endless. Remember, investing in their education today is investing in a brighter, more promising tomorrow.
Join us in making a lasting impact. Your support can transform lives. Let’s create a legacy of enriched education at Terra Nova High School.
